Phobias. They’re distressing emotions caused by out-of-proportion fears - both real and imaginary.

What is a phobia?

If you suffer from a phobia it can seem unbearable or even life-threatening.

Phobias can certainly be life-changing.

Technically, a phobia is a type of anxiety. Ranging from unease, worry to blind fear.

If your phobia becomes very severe you can end up organising your life around avoiding your phobia. Restricting your day-to-day life.

Also, in some cases, even thinking about your phobia can make you anxious. This is called anticipatory anxiety.

How to deal with your phobia

Dealing with your phobia comes in two parts.

  1. Your cognitive behaviour - How you're currently thinking, feeling and acting about your phobia.
  2. Hypnotherapy - for your phobia.

In other words...

Basically, removing a phobia is getting you to behave as you choose to. Not as you think or feel you should.

Negative behaviours are just actions you don’t want to do. Your subconscious is working against you, but giving you ‘reasons’ why you think you'd benefit.

“If I don’t fly, I won’t crash”.

“If I don’t go near dogs, I won’t get bitten”.

“If I stay away from needles, I won’t be in pain”.

By persisting with a phobia you think you’re moving away from experiences that harm you.

Often these experiences happen when we’re young and don’t have a full understanding of events. But over time these things grow and become disproportionately significant issues.

The good news is your brain is elastic so we can work together to help you change your mind, feelings and behaviours with Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.

It’s like updating the software on your computer.
