The Gentle Mind

Hypnotherapy for sex

Hypnotherapy for sex is different for everyone. It’s intensely personal.

It’s supposed to be intimate - and fun. But sometimes it’s embarrassing for some, or loaded with meaning that stops you feeling the full joy of the union.

Most commonly what is standing in the way is a stress or anxiety. And hypnotherapy for sex is all about removing the mind barriers.

Using hypnotherapy for sex, these are the most common conditions I've worked with over the years:

Sexual performance anxiety

Typically you’ve built everything up in your mind, especially in the early stages of a relationship. Are you ‘good enough’? ‘Experienced’ enough?

It really doesn’t matter. Your partner wants to be intimate with you. They’ve chosen you. It’s all about relaxing, enjoying and simply being together. Hypnotherapy for sex is all about you letting go of the negative thoughts you’ve put on yourself.

Stopping premature ejaculation

If you have a history of anxiety, hypnotherapy for sex can help your anxiousness and give it way less meaning.
This anxiety can take many forms such as perfectionism - you want everything to be absolutely right. Or there’s a learnt behaviour, for example, masturbating too quickly due to a lack of privacy or opportunity, feelings of disgust, fears of rejection, fears of relationships or intimacy to perhaps having overbearing parents.

Impotence

I can’t help if you are on medications such as beta-blockers and diuretics. Or if you have an underlying health condition like high blood pressure, diabetes or arteriosclerosis (narrowing of the arteries). But I can help with the following:
. If you drink too much - alcohol lowers your testosterone
. You’re stressed or anxious - typically to do with work

Sexual fetish treatment

Some times people like these. Get ‘turned on’. But if you find these shameful, for example, hypnotherapy for sex can help.

Vaginismus treatment

This is when the vaginal muscles involuntary tighten when penetration is attempted. This makes intercourse impossible or painful. It can be upsetting for both parties with a feeling growing that one party doesn’t love the other.

Sex addiction

This is the feeling of constantly needing sex - usually with multiple partners. Sufferers usually try and hide this. It leads to shock, anger shame, rejection, loss and fear when discovered.

Naked shyness

This is all about being comfortable with who you are. Hypnotherapy for sex can deal with confidence and self-belief. Accepting you for being you.

What else can you do? Five more tips

(1). A simple thing is to go to bed earlier. Even if for a start it’s just to sleep. Most of us are more tired than we think. We go to bed too late. Watch TV or scroll social media. Get used to going to bed earlier and being together.

(2). Deal with all the other stress and strain of everyday life. For example, is your job too demanding. Are you worried about debt?

(3). Exercise. This helps you feel good about yourself - and builds stamina.

(4). Eat libido enhancing foods.

(5). Ditch junk and ultra pressed foods. You know these.

The four most commonly asked questions.

(1). What exactly is hypnosis?
Put simply it’s just a deep state of relaxation where you can focus on telling yourself the right thing. You’re good enough already and can only get better.

(2). What’s the difference between hypnosis and hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation. The ‘therapy’ bit is simply using hypnosis to treat and heal you from your current stress and anxieties around, say, confidence and self-esteem.

(3). Why hypnotherapy?

Most experts agree that hypnotherapy is quick to the core of the problem as it deals directly with the subconscious mind. As a result it is usually faster to produce beneficial changes and results.

Also the Royal College of Psychiatrists recognise its benefits as do The Royal Society of Medicine.

It’s proven.

(4). What specifically is hypnotherapy for sex?

It’s a way of you and me working together to explore the impact of your very core beliefs, the underlying assumptions you’ve made about how you currently think, feel and act in regards to sex. Then with Hypnotherapy, we’ll look to change your thoughts for the better. Basically we’re going to practice being kind to yourself. Stop the criticising, the self doubt, help you relax and enjoy sex.
